Buddy Rizer Assistant Director for Economic Development in Loudoun County, Virginia, one of the fastest growing and wealthiest counties in the nation. He manages the team responsible for encouraging growth and developing relationships with the County’s business community. His personal focus is on the technology arena including Loudoun’s thriving Data Center cluster. He works with a stable of companies that include Digital Realty Trust, DuPont Fabros, Equinix, AOL, Orbital Sciences Corporation, Neustar and the Washington Redskins. He also works to market the benefits of Loudoun County and its business offerings both nationally and internationally.
Since 2005, Mr. Rizer has been the owner of WTRI Radio in Frederick County, Maryland. He also hosts a radio show at 98 Rock (WIYY-FM) in Baltimore, Maryland.
Buddy was formerly Program Director at DC101 (WWDC-FM) in Washington, where he was a broadcaster and host for 16 years, including several years leading the morning show. While at DC101, Buddy was recognized with several national awards, including Billboard Magazine’s Music Director of the Year. He has also been honored with a shelf full of “Addy” awards, and Community Service awards from the National Kidney Foundation, The American Heart Association, the Miss America Scholarship Foundation and others. His charity work has included service on the Board of Directors of local chapters of the National Kidney Foundation and presidency of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Mr. Rizer started his radio career at age 15 at WARK/WARX in his hometown of Hagerstown, Maryland where he rose to the rank of Station Manager and morning host before leaving for Washington, DC.
Buddy is on the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board and is a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild. He has voiced numerous narrations for film and television and hundreds of commercials airing from coast to coast.
